Happy New Year and Piano-Yoga® Students' Concert for Kharkiv Kids

Happy New Year to You!

I hope this year brings you happiness, peace, fulfillment, and, of course, progess in and enjoyment of music!

I am thrilled to announce that our next Piano-Yoga® students’ concert will take place online on Saturday, 18 January, at 5:00 PM GMT. With students joining us from all over the world—including the UK, France, Germany, Holland, Australia, and the USA—all proceeds from the concert will be donated to help the children of Kharkiv and its surrounding regions, who are facing extraordinary hardship.

Tragically, Kharkiv has been under relentless attack since the war began. While many parts of the region have been liberated, the aftermath of occupation continues to affect its citizens, particularly the children.

That’s why we are dedicating this concert to support the Mobile School of Life, an initiative designed to bring education, care, and joy back to the children of Kharkiv. Many of these children have been isolated for years due to the war and the pandemic, missing out on school, social activities, and the simple pleasures of childhood.

The Mobile School of Life offers more than just education—it provides a lifeline. Through creative writing, drawing, live puppet theatre (a rare delight since 2019!), and other interactive workshops, we aim to bring a sense of normalcy, connection, and hope back to these children. This initiative helps rebuild their spirits and strengthens their communities.

As someone who was born and educated in Kharkiv, Ukraine, I feel that whatever education I pass on to my students, through my teaching, my books, workshops and masterclasses, its fundamentals are deeply rooted in my Ukrainian heritage.

The concert programme will feature works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Schubert, Brahms, Ginastera, and myself, among others. I will also open the evening with a talk about my foundation, the work we’ve been doing, and how these challenging times have influenced my musical journey.
